Candent

Candent is the newest town founded by The Haethen Court. It was built as a staging point for supplies from the greater Acheron area to the forward army of the Haethens. The area surrounding the town is slowly being built up as an orchard, though it may be years before the trees become worth harvesting. The heat of the region means that date palms are the primary growth.

The town itself is built along the banks of the  Phlegethon River] just out of sight of Ashden. The city is within striking distance of the Centigors of the plains, however reinforcements from the other towns are ready to aid them at the first signs of aid being needed.

To help with this, bonfires, ready to be lit, are prepared atop the nearby mountain, that warning can be sent to the others at the first sign of a major incursion. When these beacons are lit, reinforcements from Ashden and Acheron will be swift to prepare for a war footing. This allows Ashden some greater confidence in its security.

Ashden itself is primarily concerned with taking advantage of the fertile plains on which it is built. Besides the palms, great wheat fields are being prepared, with water from the Phlegethon redirected to the fields through irrigation channels. These are used not only for the other towns, but by means of trade with other civilizations.

The town is built around a massive, central tower, atop which is a lookout post and signal fire. This is, as mentioned before, to be ready for the possibility of centigor attack. Several other towers are currently under construction out in the plains, for the purpose of providing even more warning and having the possibility of striking the foe before they can reach the new fields.

Candent’s first goal, however, was the destruction of the Ossiarch fortress to the north. While the fields were a long term priority, the inhabitants of Candent know that their city was founded on a war footing, and have never lost this mindset.
