Bloodmoon Fray Settlement in The Lost Archipelago | World Anvil

Bloodmoon Fray

Along the Grey Ash River of the Ulguan continent resides a terrible foe. A tribe of chaotic beasts who revel in bringing bloody death to all who enter their territory. While the true size of this herd is unknown, it is rumored to be in the tens of thousands, with plenty of evidence to support such tales. Where the Bloodmoon Fray camps the earth becomes corrupted, choking vines, obsidian spikes, and sucking sludge are common signs that the herd passed through a location. A Bray-shaman of immense power leads the Bloodmoon Fray, able to send his followers into a frenzy that will not stop until their prey is hacked to bits.

Leaders:

Ghorak Son of the Bloodmoon:
The Oracle and Prophet that leads the Bloodmoon Fray. Beholder of the Shadow Axe, a weapon that filters in and out of reality and able to slice through any armor. Speaker of the Dark Tongue, his chaotic whispers send a shiver down the spines of all who oppose him. Unleasher of the Wild Rampage, at his word a flood of beasts charge their prey and the carnage begins. Hatred towards all, no mercy is shown by Ghorak, his prophetic visions foretell of the destiny he is to fulfill and the slaughter to behold. Eater of Heroes, those captured by his herds are brought before him and consumed, lending their strength and continuing his path to greatness.

The Tzaangor Three:
Shinogor, Ra'fagor, and Crazgor, lesser wizards of the Bloodmoon Fray. They favor stealing the strength of their foes and lending it to the herd. They capor about on discs, confusing enemies with their dizzying speed and multicolored hues.

Bulls of Midnight:
Among the Bloodmoon Fray, legend tells of Ungor raised into the air and torn apart, of lazy Bestigors found trampled, and of glowing eyes hidden in the darkest places. These are all signs of the Bulls of Midnight, shadowy Doombulls who cull the weak. They are always in the herd, watching for those who fail, and deal swift judgement. The only sign that they exist are crushed bodies, chewed corpses, and the constant fear emitted by the lesser gors.

The Herd:
The Bloodmoon Fray is made of nearly every type of beast there is, and possibly some unique variations. They spread wide throughout the Ulguan continent but at a call from Ghorak, will rush to his aid.
