Avizarr, The Glittering Halls

Deep inside of Aqshy's Heart roiling flows of molten rock carry precious metals and priceless gems to the surface. When the magma flows cool they leave behind rich deposits and veins of ore are formed. The Ur-Gold found on the largest of these great seams, the drew in the Runesmiters of the Iron-Fire Fyrd. Here they built Avizarr the Glittering Halls, to harvest the great quantities of Ur-Gold found. The great hall and namesake of Avizarr is located at the locus of several seams of gold, Ur-Gold, silver, and platinum that lance through the rock and decorate its circular walls. At its center raised above the rest of the hall is a grand chair of carven stone laced with shining platinum, the seat of power of Tarskan Hammerkin, who rules Avizarr in the stead of Hreardan the Seeker .

Yet as ever with the fyreslayers, beauty is outweighed by purpose, and beneath the carven stone and shining ore lie labyrinthine mines and tunnels that tap the rich seams and brimming vaults securing and protecting the flow of riches. It is from here, from these vaults and mines that the wealth of the Iron-Fire Fyrd flows, it is because of this that Avizarr is of such importance to the fyreslayers, Ur-Gold is their lifeblood - the closest connection they have to their God and nearly all the Ur-Gold used by the Iron-Fire Fyrd has its origins in these mines and storehouses.

Not only is Avizarr a mining outpost, but at its heart are the great forges where the precious metals of the mines are turned, through the toil of the Klinkin and the Runesmiters into, beautiful icons, master-crafted weapons and the myriad of items needed for the functioning of the magmahold. The Ur-Gold however is mostly sent away, for the true Forge Temple still lies in The Ash-Fall Hold. There it is the job of Hreardan - as the most skilled and powerful Runesmiter - to forge the precious substance into the powerful Ur-Gold runes.

Due to the riches contained within it Avizarr is well defended, most practically by the many kilometres of solid rock separating it from the surface, but also by several specialist Hearthguard retinues whose duty it is to defend the precious vaults of Avizarr.
