01 - Sanctuary
General Summary
Healdri ,Hastossias, Ridley and Vol Morgran, found themselves staying in the The Wolf’s Head inn, in the small village of Swallowfled. It has been a long journey, especially for Healdri who has gathered the party together. She had arrangement with Beryan Teague ( who is Swallowfled bailiff and leader of the militia) to supply a guide to your final location, the Priory of Cymer.
After completing there breakfast at the The Wolf’s Head inn, they met up with there guide, a a female druid called Orchid, and headed of to complete there journey to the Priory of Cymer. The weather was over cast and gloomy but the priory was little more than half-days travel away. However by mid‐morning, behind them the sky darkens ominously, the weather deteriorates and a snowstorm hits the area. Conditions worsen and shortly afterwards they came across several fallen trees block the trail
Val Morgran used his Raven familiar to scout ahead , when one of the forest goblins behind the fallen trees, out of boredom or hunger decided to take a shot at the raven with its shortbow, but missed wildly blaming the wild wind conditions. But as he turned in discussed he notice the party over the fallen trees.
He quickly fired of another shot at the human druid Orchid, hitting his mark, while one of his comrades fired an arrow at Ridley the tall Dragonborn Barbarian, which also hit its mark.
While the two goblins where bragging to each other, The wizard Vol Morgran fired the spell Frostbite, hitting one of the Forest Goblin in the face knocking him back, and killing him instantly, and the other one was to slow to react to avoid the Dragonborn lightning breath weapon, which killed the second goblin.
While this was all going on, Hastossias had sneaked around the side of the fallen trees, and caught an unsuspecting goblin in the back, with an Eldritch Blast. After seeing what was happening to her companions, the leader of the goblin party decided to make a run for it, but did not get far when she was also stuck down with a Eldritch Blast.
Once the combat was over, the party decide to search the remains of the bodies, they found a number of fried spider rations, some arrows and some potion of healing. They also a couple of sacks behind the barricade which contained, four battered bronze goblets which have a faded engravings of woodland scenes, a silver dagger with a worm leather sheath, the grip of this slender dagger was covered in dried blood and a tattered bloody map, which depicts the Lonely Coast. A crude note and a cross mark the location of the “Road of the Dead.”
With the weather worsting, Orchid somehow kept her baring, and continued to press the party forward. An hour later the party started to hear the howling of wolves, and decided to hurry the pace up. But then they where attack by a small pack of hungry wolves, one of which knocked Hastossias flat on the floor.
The rest of the party easily took care of wolves, and while the others watched on the druid guide decided to carry one of the body of a wolf with her. They finally made it to Priory of Cymer
