Vil'Ashri Indivara

The Sapphire Maw

Long ago, Drakonya became the first of Draconic Ascension. In the following centuries, she and her Beloved, Hyperion, had 15 children. Vil'Ashri was their 8th child and the first Sapphire Dragon. Like the rest of Hyperion's draconic children, she established her lair – the Sapphire Maw – on her father's island. Of her siblings, Vil'Ashri was the most enamored with her father; she delighted in the stories he told of storm and wrath, of battle and victory. As the centuries of her youth faded, however, the chaotic nature of her father displeased her and she turned more to mortal military history and strategy. At the dawn of her adulthood, she was an established general and leader of legions of well-trained, fierce and loyal Sapphire dragonborn.

Fittingly, Vil'Ashri was one of the first dragons to join the Storm Wars against the Abyssal Lord. Her legions had engaged with the Tyrant's forces long before Drakonya was seized and held within his Abyssal Temple. For decades, Vil'Ashri was content to move her legions of dragonborn in a game of strategy. While she was a ruthless strategist and manipulator of battlefields, she was an equally fearless warrior, savagely attacking the colossal creatures that crawled forth from the abyss. However, her resolve was shaken with time as both her gem dragon kin and her own children were felled in battle, their bones and corpses claimed for the Abyssal Lord.

Reflecting on the exodus of many chromatic and metallic dragons in the centuries prior and the fields of draconic bones, Vil'Ashri – contrary to everything she stood for – sought to end the War not through strategic warfare... but through a plea for peace and mercy. She alone sought to placate Eresh and to beg the goddess to relinguish the cruel gift given to the Abyssal Lord. She never returned from the Gyésanti Swamps.
