Larch
The Gyésar are particularly unique for their embrace of decay. Should moss or fungus take root in or on their bodies, they are loathe to remove it. Rather, they seek out those among them blessed with the gifts to sculpt and paint with the rot and decay that adorns them. Larch takes great pride in serving as both artist and sculptor of rot, creating traditional “rot-like” tattoos for those who haven’t yet grown their rot and a sculptor of rot for those who are already blessed and adorned. Given his talents, Larch is one of the few permanent residents of the Kel’Nok Mire. And during times of festivities – when multiple caravans converge on the Mire – Larch is very busy.
While he holds no such formal title, Larch is the equivalent of a Priest of Eresh. He is incredibly faithful to her tenets, devoted to her embrace of rot and decay, and blessed with a fraction of Eresh’s control over rot, decay… and perhaps death. Being a favored of Eresh is not without consequence. While the moss that covers Larch can be styled and causes him little difficulty, the pure, darkened rot that has beset his limbs and, most notably, his spine, have hindered his mobility. Despite this, Larch’s faith in Eresh is unshakeable. He embraces the early death that will greet him in the coming years. For in death, he can return home to Eresh’s embrace.
