They say when Rotha gave her life and fell into the sea, that her blood gave life to many things as her body transformed into the land that would provide her children with a new home. In the Dragonspine mountains grows a flowering vine called Dragonsblood. It is said to be the blood of Mother Rotha herself, weaving its way through the alpine forests and rooting deep into the earth that was once her body.

Anatomy

Dragonsblood is a viney, thorny plant that often forms in tangles and spreads itself in wide swaths of underbrush in alpine forests and along rocky terrain at alpine elevations. Its vine is a thick blueish tinge and its leaves are star shaped and often a dark burgundy colour. It has a bright red flower that blooms in summer and berries in fall.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dragonsblood is dormant in winter but keeps its leaves. Its primary growth happens in spring and can often take over a square mile of territory by summer. during spring its flowers bloom and fill the mountains with a sweet irony smell that attracts many animals. in the fall the flowers turn to berries and all growth stops until the next spring season.

Ecology and Habitats

Dragonsblood grows amidst the alpine forests of Rotheria, it thrives in mild alpine environment and grows in the underbrush. It can grow in barren landscapes as well and can be seen covering rocky terrain.
