Tsebir Character in The Library of Dekash | World Anvil

Tsebir

Having grown up on the streets of Cidash stealing to survive, she nonetheless was compelled to defend the city from the Proto-Terrasques in the year 123, becoming one of the 12 Heroes of Cidash and being given the newly crafted Holy Mythril Blade Thorn to finish that fight.   As it turned out, she had been chased by one of the beasts into the larger fight, and while she held her own she always felt that she was only there because she was a coward, during the larger fight she was only asked to scout the movements of the larger horde and watch the other heroes flanks as her skillset lent the best to those tactics. After all was said and done, she felt that she didn't deserve to be considered among the "real" heroes.   In the coming years the attempts from the other heroes to befriend her were met with coldness as she felt they looked down on her. This all culminated in her leaving her dagger stabbed down into a tree stump deep in the forests of central Iocrias, and she renounced her title as hero. She faded into the background of society and continued to seek magical means to extend her life as she feared divine retribution in the afterlife, while her property was kept in her name through forged paperwork and briberies with no one any the wiser.   She eventually became the enigmatic founder and leader of the Thieves Guild under the name Blight, developing a large network of contacts across the continent. She is feared and respected and while her identity is an open secret among certain circles, her status as a hero, admiration from the downtrodden, and political power made her nearly untouchable. She used deals with Aria Luxord and the other Terrasque Slayers to further her guild's goals.   Eventually when her old dagger was recovered and a wielder was needed to kill the Terrasque and fulfill the prophecy, she was hesitant to take up the mantle of hero. Even after being convinced she found that the dagger wouldn't accept her back. After ruminating on what needed to be done, and the time for making a decision coming to a close with all the other weapons bonded and the Terrasque growing restless, she realized that the blade couldn't get a new host without her soul there to pick one. She resolved to end her own life for the good of the world, her soul passing into Thorn and being welcomed back by her old friends in the other gathered blades, truly earning the mantle of hero.
