The canid people are dog and fox-like humanoids. They are generally stronger and more enduring than humans, though they are more short lived.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

The canid were enslaved by the Fauna company for many years, seen as property by the people of that region. Any villages discovered would be ransacked and all able bodied people taken into slavery. They lived in fear of being taken or punished for entire generations. Now, even though they are free, they are still wary of strangers and incredibly loyal to those close to them.

Coming of Age Rites

The young ones among the canid people wear collars for the first 10 years of their life for their parents to both control them easier and to remind them of the many years of servitude their people were forced into. When they enter adulthood, the collar is removed for the last time, representing their ascension into adulthood and shirking off their bonds.
