Session 2: Facing Death Report
General Summary
- Ringo found in a cage
- Team runs down the hall to find a bedroom. It is immediately apparent that the bedroom belongs to Zelver
- A Journal and a scroll is found in the bedroom
- The scroll contains an incantation that allows a bubble to form around the caster while enclosing nearby allies. This bubble repels Zelver 's minions. Bronn is responsible for this incantation.
- The journal discloses that Zelver is actually a warlock under pact.
- The incantation learned allows the party to get past the wall of minions that was blocking progression to the last leg of the dungeon
- A great battle starts against Zelver
- Zelver states that he is in a past with a creature called The Underlying.
- The Underlying seeks revenge on the town of Honeywell for the death of a loved one who overdosed on a substance called Gawk Gawk given to them by the same individual that supplies Bran .
- Bran immediately redirects and refuses to give up the name of his beloved supplier
- Zelver is vanquished
- Chris the Revenant shows up finally to get his revenge on Bran. A fight begins.
- Bran splashes all of his remaining Gawk Gawk on Chris the Revenant's face causing him to hallucinate momentarily. Bran is now out of Gawk Gawk.
- Bran dies to the fist of Chris the Revenant.
- Bran's soul joins the hovering souls of the skellies above and Chris finally lays to rest after satisfying his revenge.
- Ringo remembers that he was once one of the floaty souls and that he is now in his bodily form again
- Team reviews the "Backup Plan" scroll. The team discovers an incantation that realigns the lingering souls with their intended hosts. This allows Zelver to keep the souls he captures in a state of continual reusability.
- Team casts incantation. Bran's soul realigns with his body.
- Bran is back.
- Team heads off to go back to Honeywell
- Team arrives in Honeywell to witness death and destruction. Beer is drunk, Bran's dealer is nowhere to be found, and Tommas Tankar the Tavernkeep is dead next to a note in blood. The note reads "You have taken from me a trusted vessel. I am The Underlying and I will have revenge."
