Vance Dessaro

Vance Dessaro is the prince of the technopathic Desar race, which was conquered by the Collective before having their planet destroyed when trying to reclaim it. Since the desar migrated to Earth, Vance married Gwen Shepard and became a member of the Extraordinaries, fathering Stella Shepard.

Body Features

Vance looks human, but with bright purple eyes.

Special abilities

Vance has innate technopathic abilities related to his race, which is especially strong for him.
Electromagnetokinesis: Vance can control metal and electricity, manipulating magnetic fields, while using it as both an offense and defense.
Flight: By manipulating the fields around him, he can achieve flight.
Technopathy: Vance can manipulate technological constructs, able to reshape, mold, and power them at will.
Forcefields: Vance can create forcefields out of magnetic fields.

Specialized Equipment

Specialized Gun: Vance carries a special gun that fires plasma blasts, and using his powers can be arranged in any manner of his choosing.

Personal history

Vance Dessaro was born to the royal family the led the planet Desar. As a prince of the technologically advanced planet, he was raised with intention of being the next king. That however was cut short when Collective invaded and conquered the planet, forcing Vance and the others to flee until they could prepare a counterattack.
When he met with the Extraordinaries, he joined them in the effort to save the planet. In particular, he became lovers with Gwen Shepard, and they fought closely. While it proved a valiant effort, them almost reclaiming the planet, the Collective opted to destroy it instead of having to lose it. When that happened, the desar fled, as did Vance and the Extraordinaries, but many more died. It stood as an example of how far the Collective will go.
Migrating to Earth, Vance joined the Extraordinaries full-time, and married Gwen. Together they had a daughter named Stella. He also led the charge in constructing Interstellar City in New Mexico, which became the melting pot of alien cultures that it is. Vance happily lives on Earth, but still longs for his old home.
