Rise and Fall of Enfurnis the Spearmaiden.
Summary
There was once a Hydra, an incredibly powerful demon born from the fears of the Lord Nightmare himself, that claimed Mount shatter as its home. Warrior after warrior, hero after hero, fell to its venomous heads until Enfurnis, the Spearmaiden with her spear, a weapon of little consequence, slew the beast after a pitched battle. This propelled her into fame.
After joining the Phoenix Knights, she quickly became one of Judicator's champions and so became a target. She was continuously hounded by Forsaken warriors from the Veil of Shadows, but these attacks suddenly stopped when she left her spear buried in the chest of the Second Son of Apathy. She then married and retired after over one hundred years of heroism.
Only a decade after her retirement, she was called to the aid of the Windcallers in the west, where she met Dreadlord Morduriin in single combat. After a bloody battle, the beastly knight raised her severed head above the battlefield and ended her legend in the same way it began.
Historical Basis
The legend is well documented and true to every extent. Her body and head were buried together in the now ruined city of Sol's Journey.
Spread
Enfurnis is a household name across the Covenant of Sol and known by a few in the east.
Variations & Mutation
One variant of the legend tells that she was chased by the Forsaken for her spear. Those that support this theory claim that it was an ancient artifact of unimaginable power, but no such powers were ever documented.
Cultural Reception
Enfurnis is considered one of the greatest heroes of the Solborn people.
In Literature
Due to her fate, her legend is often watered down for children.
In Art
Her likeness is engraved in the Hall of Heroes.
