Commune with Animals

One of the Druids most frequently used spells is the ability to commune with animals. Not only do they glean important information regarding the surrounding areas, but they also make life long friends this way. The spell can be used to communicate with creatures at great distances, but typically only if the Druid and animal have frequently communicated before.

Effect

Sensations of sight, scent, feelings, and sounds from the animal reach the Druid through the The Life Stream. Using these sensations, the Druid is able to get a sense of the animal's thoughts. Sending his or her own thoughts to the animal, the spell converts them into the corrisponding sights, sounds, scents, and feelings that the animal would recognize. In this way communication is achieved, though it is limited.

Manifestation

There is no visual indication that the spell worked aside from the possibility of the animal being communicated with suddenly lifting their head in the direction of the Druid casting the spell.

Source

The spell makes its connection via the life stream. It uses the many threads that form the stream, which connect to every part of a living being, to send the signals and impulses that make up the communication.
