Quahutli

The Quahutli is the highest ruler of the elves. He rules over a Chicoma with absolute authority. The last Quahutli in Kovus was Tizoc 'The Unbending' of the Kingdom of Xocomeco, who was defeated at Quetla's Sorrow.

Appointment

When a man becomes Quahutli, he has to prove his strenght, wits and cunning in the so called "Mizqui Neneco" or Great Challenge. After sucessfully absolving the challenges, he is handed the royal relics and branded with the Mark of the Quahutli.
