This maiden sits, slumped over and clutching the Tarnished's Wizened Finger for us, the only and best guidance she'll end up giving us.A finger of corpse wax, so emaciated the bone is visible. It is a relic of those who came before, left to help those who would come after.Since this is how we leave and read messages, and allows us to receive the wisdom (and treachery) of those other Tarnished on this same journey. There is no blood around the corpse, but it also looks fresh. Although White Mask Varre is a popular figure to blame for her death, the lack of blood is suspicious, given his need for a maiden's blood for his own path. It's possible Melina could be responsible, or The Grafted Scion simply got her (though again, one expects blood in that case). It is also pure assumption that this was supposed to be The Tarnished's maiden, but very likely given the context.
