History
Zela fist met Varian when he was assigned as a part of her guard detail as someone of vital importance to the Kingdom's staff. Zela didn't think much of Varian at the time, but Varian slowly found himself growing interested in his charge due to her mysterious and aloof nature, as well as her beauty. When Varian found out that Zela loved sweets, he began to anonymously leave her a treat on her desk every day. Zela loved them and erroneously thought that the servants were leaving them for her until she caught Varian carrying one of her dishes one day and accused him of stealing from her. He confessed to being the one to leave them, and after a bit of talking, Zela quickly realized that he was V.E. Silver, the author of her favorite series in her childhood. From there, a relationship developed. At one point, Varian accidentally impregnated Zela, and the birth came on suddenly and unexpectedly. Zela was so distraught over it that she refused to have anything to do with the baby. Varian pleaded with her to keep it because he wanted to be a father and raise a child with her, but Zela refused and gave up her baby to her mother for adoption. Varian felt betrayed by this act, so he and Zela decided to go their separate ways: Varian quit his job as a guard to pursue his chef career full-time, and Zela poured herself even more into her work, shutting nearly everyone else out in the process. Eventually, after gaining success as a chef, Varian realized that his life was rather empty without Zela in it, and Zela realized the same. After a rocky reunion, the two decided to marry.
