It's unknown what Spyder's real name is. He abandoned it years ago, before arriving in the Tau Ceti system. The fact that Spyder made his way to the lawless Tau Ceti system is no surprise. His specialty is finding ways to get objects smuggled into areas where they are illegal, or finds ways to get stolen goods past authorities.
Of course, he's too sly to do the work himself, contracting jobs to others as a type of job contractor. He pays on time, but most people never question the details of the job.
