Here is a summary of our observations of various members of the Eaurth Unified Governement. Most of them have notes about if there has been recent changes in their approach to policies or not. I hope this information is helpful.
Irene (Rina) Archer
Rina has a history of backing larger corporations, but not in favour of lowering their taxes, only in supporting their growth. She claims that the larger companies, paying the same tax rate, will increase the wealth base of the system. Last month, she introduced a proposal to increase the tax spending on growing infrastructure of local colonies, such as Mars, and Proxima. Eventually growing the infrastructure in other systems as well. She proposes that this will start after the current spending on the Mars life support system upgrades are finished later this year.
This doesn't seem to be a significant change to her normal policies
Jabori Bello
A long time supporter of initiatives that help all citizens. Jabori recently introduced legislation to increase the list of items considered essential programs for everyone. This includes expanding government provided education to include more STEM programs.
Improving education for all seems to be in line with his normal approach.
Gabriella Brichese
Always been a supporter of smaller businesses, typically those that employ between 20 and 80 people, recently Gabriella has been less focused on these this approach to growing the economy. Instead, she has been focused more on pushing for a universal medical system for all.
This seems to be a marked change from here usual stance on issues.
Fatima Huseynov
Fatima has been pushing for changes in the government structure. Wanting a wider base than 12 people to make decisions. However, 9 weeks ago, she dropped all initiatives to this end. Around that time, she introduced new legislation that would begin to allow the colonies to become independent of Earth governmental reach.
This would still have a significant change on the government, but with a very different approach.
Yuli Novikov
Yuli has always pushed for healthcare and education for all, but recently, has been pushing for the government to back more pharmacuetical research funding, and cutting spending on medical care by the same amount. This proposal is for a 2 year change to improve medical resources available for people.
Technically, this will still improve the healthcare system, by improving available medications. But the approach is very different from normal.
Sun Soomin
Sun has always been a supporter of technological advancements, often at the cost of more generally supported programs. His focus on growing the technological research centers throughout Asia. Advances in AI, nano-tech, and more efficient power sources have been Sun's main supporters in the corporate world, so he's been pushing those technologies to the EUG for more government support.
A recent proposal to increase spending on a new biological power source seems consistent with his normal policies.
Effe Dejesus
Effe recently changed their vote in a debate regarding the tax rates for colonies. Believing that the taxes should increase for the middle income groups, but only if it stays below a 2% increase. This changed about 6 weeks ago, before that, she wanted to lower the taxes on that group by 1.5%
An obviously drastic change in her normal tax policies.
Jasmine Sakai
Jasmine has always been hard to read by our group. They don't seem to have a set agenda. She evaluates each situation on it's own merits. This doesn't seem to have changed lately.
Azad Tripathi
Azad seems to continue to focus on local infastructure. He wants to improve power generation on Mars, and Ganymede. Hoping that one day, this would provide better power systems that would be smaller, allowing for easier maintenance and smaller stations. This often puts Azad's goals in line with Sun Soomin's.
Azad thinks that the biological power source is not viable, and wants to focus on improving the food supply in some of the smaller colonies through agricultural improvements.
Marco Rosario
This past April, like he does about every 4-6 months, Marco introduced legislation that would lower taxes for the most wealthy of people. This would lower the taxes on executives of the largest corporations. This last time, he tried to sneak it in on legislation he proposed that would help boost medical research. Hoping that growing support for medicare and pharmaceutical research would make it possible to sneak his legislation in.
This seems like a new approach, rather than simply proposing the tax changes, and this seems to have Yuli very interested in supporting the program, so it seems effective.
Edward Guerrero
A staunch supporter of increasing corporate taxes for the entire 7 years he's been on the EUG, he recently started pushing for lower corporate taxes, and increasing taxes on middle income people in the Sol system.
Lowering corporate taxes is very unusual for Edward. Perhaps a new lobbyist or corporation changed his mind.
Werner Volk
Werner recently retracted a proposal he put forward to increase spending programs for the lower income people. Such as support for systems to help them find better job, and ensure they have food and housing. He replaced that proposal with one that would provide employment to the lowest income, by offering them work in off-world government facilities. Though it doesn't specify which ones.
This unusual approach is very strange, especially since the locations of these facilities are unknown.
