Dynahir
In a world often dominated by war and uncertainty, the warmth of others are amongst the chief forces birthing the strength to keep enduring through the hardships. This warmth and belief in each other forms the emotional core of Dynahirs domain, for they are the deity of inspiration and of love.
Due to the wide portfolio, Dynahir is worshipped under a wide array of mantles, most artists respect Dynahir for their role as the greatest muse, and it is often in their name marriages are declared. Just as often, however, the Lord and Lady is worshipped as a god of excess and hedonism, leading to a strong presence of cults worshipping more twisted aspects.
Divine Domains
At their core, Dynahir is primarily the god of inspiration, and have a long history of being worshipped by various artist, actors and the like. In these circles, Dynahir is prayed to for the divine glimpses of brilliance that is made manifest into the craft the worshipper preforms.
More commonly, however, Dynahir is worshipped as the chief god of love, and by extension, of beauty and of youth, resulting in the gods wide appeal. Many souls have whispered prayers to the Lord & Lady so that their affection to others may be returned, and similarly many have chosen to spend their life together under the faith.
A lesser known aspect in the wider society is the Blissfull maiden, an aspect worshipped in conjunction with hedonism of all kinds. This aspect is particularly often worshipped in by decadent elites, forming cults of sensation within more morally restrictive societies.
Holy Books & Codes
Its noted that Dynahirs universal, and often personally significant nature, means that there are very few formally codified texts of worship, as the nature of worship depends on the worshipper herself.
Most praxis tied to Dynahir comes from oral traditions passed down through generations, and may vary widely between societies.
The Divine Precept has collated a formal text, called The great canticle which is formally the basis of the faith within the empire. It is however widely known that its only strictly adhered to in the cities, where the Inqusition holds sway.
Some of the more universally recognized lectures in the ways of Dynahir include:
The Tale of Leon Learch & Ilwärien, which has become a central lecture on the importance of love.
The Persinium; a tale descibing a young womans quest to capture beauty, and how she comes to realize that beauty more than anything desires to flow freely.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
The symbold most often associated with Dynahir is interlocking rings, representing unity through fellowship, through many local comminities often tie Dynahir to hearts, trees and birds.
A more dogmatic symbol is the Archon of words, an angelic figure, with skin of bronze and wings made of parchment, inscribed with words of hope. This symbol is based on the fabled divine servants that Dynahir sends as muses and protectors.
Tenets of Faith
- Show kindness towards those in need, and inspire them to greatness through your own words and deeds.
- Present your heart to the world, without fear or shame.
- Strive to create, and protect the creations of others.
Holidays
Without a strongly centralized church, few universal traditions exist, though the idea of weddings or other similar unions persists across most cultures. Certain cultures, like that of The Dragonborn Deliberative have strong traditions of such weddings taking place during a great festival, The song of blossoms, which take place throughout the nation.
In adition, some Dynahiri worshippers also honor the The Festival of Skilled Hands and tongues takes place on the 5th to 9th of Fall's Thaw. This festival centers on creating gifts of beauty and skill for those that the worshippers loves.
Worshippers
With the large amount of oral tradition, its noted that while a lot of smaller communities worship Dynahir at an all-gods temple, there also exist traditions that wise women and midwives serve as the religious authority on Dynahir in the villages throughout the empire. It is also worth noting that devoted servants of The lord and lady operate with a lot of independence compared to some clerics. However, some religious orders are known to exist in a wider context:The satyrian lodge
While more of a philosophical movement, and less of a religious order, the Satyrian lodge represents the trickery and fickleness of love. They are the old crones playing matchmaker, and they are the young handsome men who lure others into infidelity. They are the ones that believe life is short, and must be enjoyed to its fullest. Though identifying as part of the lodge is not considered heretical by The Imperial Inquisiton, they are often viewed with suspicion by the wider clergy.Knights-Errant of the word
This order also exists as a largely personal label, rather than an organized faith. The Knight-Errants travel the world, seeking out beauty in all shapes wherever they go, and fight to protect works of beauty, and the sanctity of true love wherever they go. For this reason, they are widely known to be exemplar heroes, and often said to be accompanied by the Archons of the word themselves.
