Following the fall of the Ak'teshi Empire , Humans, Dwarves, Halflings, Orcs, and Kobolds began to spread themselves across the Known World. Of all races, humanity became the most widespread.   Many races secluded themselves within small, isolated tribes of hunter-gatherers in order to survive their newfound freedom, and they were forced to weather the harsh conditions of the wilderness. They crafted huts of stone, mud, and wood, as dwarves made their homes in caves. Halflings became the first folk to invent agriculture independent of the Empire's forced hand.   Many tribes settled down and squabbled and fought each other for resources, while other tribes wandered the lands and the oceans.   The near-immortal Orc and Dark Shaman, Kusatta, spread his teachings far across Meyland and beyond. Tribes of cultists and witch-doctors practiced his dark magic in dark caves and forests.

Some of these covens joined a number of nomadic human tribes inspired by the ideals of Arator, who ventured across the oceans in great fleets of primitive boats to colonize new lands. These covens sewed the seeds that would eventually and inadvertently lead to the Sinking of Sekkar & Vauldis Rises to Lichdom.
