A rebel force commanded by Ra-Shel Soon began a rebelion against Jilla Stonarch using Jilla's apparent lack of an heir as her rallying cry. The war ended with Jamus Stonarch defeating Ra-Shel Soon in singe combat.

A rebel force commanded by Ra-Shel Soon began a rebelion against Jilla Stonarch using Jilla's apparent lack of an heir as her rallying cry. Jilla's only child, Jamus Stonarch, had been secreted away in Fort Stonarch since his birth. It is not known why this was done, but it is suspected that Jillan feared that because of the boy's great height he might be thought to be an impure Jacobian (Ethnicity). There was little resistance when Ra-Shel's forces marched into Ok-Chee (City) the day after Jilla's death. She took the throne and title of Jaco and vowed to give up the throne to Jilla's successor if they were to be found. The Western Jacobian cities resisted her rule and continued actively fighting her throughout her reign.   3 years into Ra-Shel's reign, Jamus revealed himself in Kordae (City) and gathered a legion of soldiers loyal to the Stonarchs. Ra-Shel denounced his claim as Jilla's heir. The Western forces redoubled their efforts into a full scale civil war that ended when Jamus challenged Ra-Shel to single combat for the throne.
