Blumont Hill

Where no-one dares go but where the leaves sparkle.

Blumont Hill is where the town Blumont got its name. The hill has two distinct features that make it obviously Blumont Hill: 1. It's the only hill around for miles, even though it really isn't even that tall. It's maybe the height of a three-story building. To residents of Blumont, that's fairly tall; to residents of practically anywhere else, it's an easy stroll. 2. It's covered in blue flowers - rare blue flowers, in fact. They aren't considered native to any area, as they can be found in dense clusters all over, but the clusters are hard to find. Blumont Hill is the densest and largest patch of them. Before the New Era, Magi would pick the flowers for use because of their magical powers. After the New Era, Blumont Hill has practically become off-limits, as anyone found near it is immediately considered a Magi or somehow affiliated with one. However, it is still the defining feature of the town, even if the modern inhabitants prefer to not really mention it. The hill could be used as a beautiful picnic or stargazing spot, and it likely was in the past. The Starleaves are densely clustered, but picking them to create a comfortable spot with lush grass would pose no threat to person - as they aren't dangerous in any way - or flower - as they aren't considered endangered. The only reason the hill is left alone to flourish as much as it has is because of the association with the Starleaves and Magi. The land itself may not be good for farming, but nobody has ever tried because the Starleaves have been considered too crucial - before the New Era, everybody, regardless of magic, wanted to preserve them, but they had their separate reasons. Despite it not being tried, the grass and weeds that grow alongside the flowers are bright and healthy, suggesting the hill would indeed be a good place to set up farmland. However, the fact that it's a hill surrounded by plains would mean someone would have to be truly desperate to try. The land around the area may not be the most fertile, but local farmers have their ways of growing and fertilizing to keep crops and livestock alike happy, healthy, and productive.

Geography

It's a singular hill just outside the town Blumont. Nobody knows where the flowers came from, only to avoid the area or else face persecution as a Magi or ally of Magi.

Fauna & Flora

The only flora in the area are the rare blue flowers - Starleaves, named such because of the way the blueish leaves seem to sparkle under a clear night sky. The flowers themselves are pretty, but it's the leaves that make them special.

Natural Resources

The only natural resource would be the Starleaves, but those haven't been harvested since before the New Era. Before the New Era, there were protections put in place for the Starleaves to prevent them from going extinct.
