Tumeën of Krareuklēdza Character in The Kingdom of Ntiklon | World Anvil

Tumeën of Krareuklēdza (Too-me-en)

Tumeën is woman of mixed Enxetite-Pagavenur heritage who grow up in the province of Krareukledza, just south of the Fiyek's delta. Tumeën's father was Pagavenur and seller of uncommon spices and rare food, her mother an Enxetite of merchant heritage herself. Due to their sizeable wealth (not noble level but quite well off), Tumeën was able to get an education on par with lesser nobility first from tutors and then being enrolled in the Academy in the provincial capital of Lusten Gle (lion city). The Academy is willing to take in students on a combination of patronage, whether they can pay the tuition and whether they pass the entrance exams well enough. Tumeën scored quite well and their wealth enabled her to get an education that would have otherwise been out of her reach. Near the end of her time in the Academy, Tumeën was scouted out by several Royal organizations, such the the Royal Navy and Royal Order of the Serpent. But the one that successfully won her over was the Royal Scout Corps, specifically the Kmeser Seeker division. She was noted for being quick on her feet, adaptable to a myriad of circumstances and almost renowned for reading as many books as the Academy's library held. She was offered the chance to find the rare Kmeser tree (one of many mysteries that intrigued her) as well as earn a particularly good wage as a servant of the Throne.   Service like this carries a minimum of five years before one can leave. While she enjoyed her time as a Kmeser Seeker, Tumeën craved more beyond just the empty wilds and the Kmeser tree. She desired to travel and learn even more of everything. While she was tempted to outright become a Royal Scout, that job carried too many restrictions for her. Her officer gave her an offer though. The Scout Corps is happy to have her on a retainer of sorts, paying her a strong wage in return for her to document things she finds interesting and send said reports to the Corps. She took it and began first exploring her homeland (and further abroad). She was as equally at home in the libraries of the Kingdom looking for new knowledge as she was out in the wilds seeking new animals and plants.
