Skeuriuren (Skew-ri-oo-ren)

The territory of Skeuriuren is a land to the northeast of the lands formally part of the Kingdom, beyond the Sunrise Mountains. Officially, this region is part of the Kingdom. However, the lack of safe and easy routes through the mountains mean that the only reliable way to reach it is via coastal boats. This has lead to the isolation of the region for a very long time, creating a sense of distance between Enxe proper and Skeuriuren.
The territory consists of five major settlements and a smattering of small towns and villages along the coast south of Skeuriuren proper. The capital is the eponymous Skeuriur (named after the goddess of the same name), the ports of Kmehtas & Kagmun, and the inland towns of Krētho & Krükün. A couple important lesser port towns are Rēgnu and Prōuxāu further south on the coast. The region is predominantly settled by the semi-nomadic Ghilzai (who are known to the Pagavenur as Mdeptisen; literally Wanderers) though there has been mixing of Enxetites and more recently Pagavenur on the coast.
The region was only home to a handful of small settlements and ports settled by Ghilzai clans before the arrival of the Iosi Pagavenur, people from the kingdom of Iosi seeking to build a new home. They founded Skeuriur, Kmehtas and Kagmun outright and brought many more people into Kretho and Krukun. As the ports brought in trade from abroad, more Ghilzai clans began settling in the colonies and were generally welcomed for their knowledge of the region. Skeuriuren, while growing into a beacon of civilization, has long been under regulated in comparison to the Kingdom's heartland in Enxe. The lack of major rivers and the high mountains has made the "Sunrise Coast" a haven for pirate bands. Even after being part of the Kingdom for several generations at this point has not seen any significant change to this part of the region's character. The Sunrise Coast remains the periphery as far as the government of Kadukuren sees it.
