Obelisk of Kings

When the Hyborians occupied Khemit, they destroyed religious temples and necropolises in order to conform the khemitians into the Hyborian hegemony. When the army could not capture Pharaoh Menkamin, they took their wrath on the palace, razing it to the ground and destroying the Obelisk of kings.
The Obelisk of Kings was commissioned by Menkamin I as part of his reign, to document his heritage back to the first king of Khemit and the year of their reign. Three thousand years later, within the mud of the Stygian River, a small pyramid is found with the cartouche of Menkamin at the top. It is the first piece of the Obelisk of kings.
Pharaoh Psamtik II orders the excavation of the river mud to retrieve the Obelisk of Kings. It's all part of his revitalization of the kingdom of Khemit. From their own recollection of history, the Obelisk should have Pharaoh Narmer, the first Pharaoh at its base, establishing an unbroken line of kings. Secondarily The Pharaoh's Vizier can use such a record to build an even larger monument, connecting Psamtik II's heritage back to Narmer.
Piece by Piece, the obelisk is reassembled. They find the section naming Pharaoh Sekh-pa-Mefer III as the Pharaoh of the Sphinx, then further back to Pharaoh Teti of the 7th Dynasty, an unusually obliterated section with Pharaoh Kufru of the 5th dynasty. On the fourth week of the excavation, the crew finally found and translated a piece with the name Pharaoh Narmer. This was, believed to be the first dynasty and the beginning of the Kingdom of Khemit. However, the piece was not the base of the obelisk.
Work officially stopped dredging for the obelisk as pharaoh Psamtik II switched to men from the Utachu to secretly continue digging and avoid the public eye. On the 5th week, More stone was recovered, though it is different. it's made of darker marble with the name An Hepsu XI showed up; A pharaoh 500 years before Narmer. It appears that this stone was not carved by Menkamin I, but a piece of an older monument that carvers cut new stone to fit on. Then more of that stone was found with Pharaoh Nuthor, noted as the first god-king of Khemit. The strangeness continued as Nuthor was still not the base of this monumentally huge obelisk.
Another three weeks and the base is found. it is a huge platform that is made of white marble. Yet again, it was worn down with age with more recent cuts to fit the other pieces. The hieroglyphs are hard to read and translate, but one name is finally translated, Osiris. He is marked as god, not god-king. The Pharaoh has kept the Obelisk of kings a secret as they contemplate the depths of understanding this monument. If it is to be believed, The kingdom of Khemit is ten thousand years old.Three times longer than previously thought. Then there are the supposed gods ruling Khemit, putting more thought into places like Footprints of the Gods. Validation of all the names and places will take a special group to uncover the truth. Bring in the bonekickers.
