Guiding Spire: Upper Balcony
Surrounding the courtyard is a wide balcony. At each corner of the balcony is a kneeling granite statue. They appear to have been holding something above a brazier as they face the obelisk, but that piece of equipment has disappeared. (Perception DC 15) the statues have been purposely scoured, becoming anonymous. Even Senemarek doesn’t know who the statues were. He does however know what was there; Mirrors. Each of the statues held a large curved mirror and when the braziers were lit, the light from the four corners would focus light toward the obelisk. Smoking offerings below the obelisk would make the guiding light coming out of the obelisk even more visible to the city. The mirrors are most likely down in the courtyard, buried in sand.
