The Bounty of the Seas
A shrewd and politically savvy people, House Ildrafn responded to 8 years of drought and poor harvests with cunning and clout. Emissaries sought friendship and allies within the untamed clans of the North, quietly taking root under the noses of House Antyre , and in exchange for subtle advancement of clan interests within the Banteavan court, The Sixth house gained knowledge of hardier crops, and methods of farming. It was decreed and ensured that each family living within Sixth house lands switch from grains to root vegetables and take a greater percentage of each successful harvest in order to prevent starvation of the workforce. While this certainly initially affected our house’s income, it allowed our populace to remain healthy and strong, resulting in a headstart to greater productivity once the famine subsided.
Our house also turned our eyes to the water, adapting and learning how to become successful fishermen. This led to better shipbuilding technology and our navy is unmatched in the kingdom.
