SKILLS AND SPECIALTIES

  • Agility - Measures dexterity, nimbleness, reflexes and flexibility. Specialties include Acrobatics, Balance, Contortion, Dodge, Quickness
  • Animal Handling - The various skills and techniques used to train, work and care for animals. Specialties include Charm, Drive, Ride, Train
  • Athletics - Describes the degree of training, application of physical fitness, coordination and raw muscle. Specialties include Running, Jumping, Swimming, Climbing, Strength
  • Awareness - Measures your senses, how quickly you can respond to changes in your environment, and your ablity to see through double-talk and feints to arrive at the truth of the matter. Specialties include Notice, Empathy, Investigate
  • Craft - The tradecraft skills required to construct, forge or craft various items in the world. Specialties include Blacksmithing, Finesmithing, Leatherworking, etc.
  • Cunning - Encapsulates intelligence, intellect and the application of your collected knowledge. Typically, Cunning comes into play when recalling important details or instruction, deciphering codes and concocting elaborate plots. Specialties include Decipher, Logic, Memory
  • Deceive - Measures your gift for duplicity. Use Deceive to mask your intentions and hide your agenda. You can also use Deceive to pretend to be someone other than who you really are. Specialties include Act, Bluff, Cheat, Disguise
  • Endurance - Measures your physical well-being, health and hardiness. Specialties include Resilience, Stamina
  • Fight - Describes your skill at arms in close combat. Whenever you would attack unarmed or using a hand-held weapon, test Fight. Specialties include Axes, Bludgeons, Brawling, Fencing, Long Blades, Pole-Arms, Short Blades, Shields, Spears
  • Healing - Represents skill with and understanding of the accumulated medical knowledge throughout the world to treat afflictions of the body and the mind. Specialties include Diagnose, Treat Injury, Treat Ailment, Counsel
  • Influence - The ability to manipulate the emotions and beliefs of others. Modify how others see you, shape their attitudes towards others, convince them of things they might not otherwise agree to and more. Specialties include Bargain, Charm, Convince, Incite, Intimidate, Seduce, Taunt
  • Know - Your general understanding and awareness of the world you live in. Covers a broad spectrum of subjects, from history to agriculture to economics to politics. Specialties include Education, Research, Streetwise, Religion, Legend Lore, Language (Specific) Estate Management, etc.
  • Marksmanship - Your skill with ranged weapons. Whenever you attack at range in combat, use Marksmanship. Specialties include Bows, Crossbows, Slings, Throwing
  • Perform - Your aptitude at public performance, both at courtly fetes and rowdy tap houses across Banteave. Specialties include Dance, Play Instrument, Sing, Recite
  • Sneak - Represents your ability to creep about unseen and unheard. Specialties include Blend In, Stealth
  • Survival - The ability to get by in the wild; hunting, avoiding getting lost, following tracks. Specialties include Forage, Hunt, Orienteer, Track
  • Thievery - The catchall ability for larcenous activity. Specialties include Lockpicking, Sleight of Hand, Steal
  • Warfare - Describes a characters talent at managing the battlefield, ranging from issuing commands and possessing strategic knowledge for maneuvering armies to tactical knowledge for dealing with small engagements. Specialties include Command, Strategy, Tactics
  • Willpower - Your mental fortitude, reflecting the state of your mind's mental health and endurance. It represents your ability to withstand fear in the face of appalling violence or supernatural phenomena, as well as resisting being manipulated by others. Specialties include Concentration, Coordination, Bravery
A Skill is a broad collection of aptitudes, while a Specialization is a honing of that skillset for a particular task. You might be a middling fighter but an exceptional swordswoman, or a savvy diplomat with a knack for Charm and Bargaining.
