Session 7 - Who is Eurthen? - Report

We found ourselves at the Burnsworth Menagerie Where we had just completed our quest to protect the altar. We then hung around town for two days and on the first day we went to Lily’s armoire where Avlour purchased a silver dagger, his fifth dagger total. We then meandered up to a “haunted” manner on the southside of town, Hill Top View. We had gotten a tip that this manner was being haunted by ghost(s). The caretaker of the manor, one of the neighbors, had posted about the job on the job board. We found out that it had been deserted for hundreds of years. We learned from Valian Ly'lia II that the manner was haunted repeatedly year after year. We also learned that her mother was around when the owners had died. She then told us that when they died they would give it to the next family member that showed up. One family did indeed. We’d find that these people were the horns and that they one stayed for a year and then abruptly left. Leaving many belongings behind. After we found out this information we entered the manner. We opened the gate and found ourselves in what used to be a courtyard or outdoor entertainment area. As we began to approach the main doors we noticed a big gold leaf above on the wall. As soon as we cracked open the door a figure dashed across the stairs and a leaf fell where it had once been. We entered causheshly but as soon as we entered Erdan felt an instinctive pull towards a different direction than the rest of the group was going. While Erdan wandered off, the rest of the group confronted this being. It was a (Idk the name) and it was not speaking entirely in complete sentences but from what we got we know that it has been here a long time and it wanted to be free. Meanwhile while this was happening Erdan was wondering further and further into the manner. While he was wandering off the rest of the group fought off a ghost that appeared from around the connor. The pull finally took erdan to a metal staircase. He walked up the staircase but halfway up he felt the pull, pulling him back down. He attempted to search for what the pull was meaning but could not find anything. Eventually Aymar came and looked for what was being searched for and found it. It was a small button that when pushed opened a trap door leading down into darkness, at this point Erdon lost his guiding pull.
As Erdan and Aymar began to descend down the stairs the rest of the group caught up with them and Kai mistuke them for others attacked, all was fine and there were no major injuries. The party then descended down the winding staircase. At the bottom they found an old ruff cellar but before they could begin to search the room they were ambushed by gricks. The Gricks were quickly taken care of and they searched the room.
Erdan then felt the pull from earlier, but in a different direction. It was towards some music stands sitting outside of this deep black object that seemed to have its own gravity. Erdan let the pull control his motions and picks up a specific sheet of music with, up is down, written in the corner. He then began to widly gesture between a horn he grabbed and the music. Everyone was worried that he was possessed and would make the hole worse.
Kai held Erdan down to stop him from advancing the hole. Eventually Erdan gives in entirly and begins to speak but not in his voice in another, Eurthen's voice. He instructs them that they need to play the music to close the hole. After some meager attemps by the party the hole expand and Himp steped in to play. He fells the music and the piece has an early version of his raised ridge tecnique to write music. The Double Ds then realises they need to play the music upsidedown. It takes Himo two trys but he eventually gets it and the hole claspases with a fait "Free" echoing throughout the house and a loss of the tug.
