Cauldron
Demographics
Barbarians, comon folk and rarely elvish merchants
Government
The settlement is in hands of various tribes who vote on the leader for every year. The leader can be only another tribal group, never a southern lord or elvish prince. The council is asigned a vote each.
Defences
Best defence is the geographical location. The access roads are very narrow and the town itself has a draw wooden bridge connected to a wooden wall.
Infrastructure
The acces southern road is made from planks and goes 500 meters through the worst marsh to connect the town to the ouside world. The roads inside the small settlement are made entirely by ancient tree trunks.
History
The floods occasionaly brought in timber from Northern woods which ended up far inland in these marshes. These floods used to be fairly comon but now it's more rare. Cauldron was build entirely from the laid down wood as a trade center between the barbarian tribes and southern fiefdoms.
Architecture
The city is made from large tree trunks laid on the land creating a solid ground. The ancient wood as it is known is well preserved in the acidic water of the marshland and contracts a distinct grey colour. Buildings are made from wood also and often washed by the mudy water as a preservative.
Geography
The town is situated on wetlands, some would even say marsh. There are deposits of tar and clay in the near surrounding. The few herbs that sprout around the town are unreachable thanks to the treacherous terrain.
