Rewind
You quickly peer into several different timelines and rewind time to produce a different outcome. You do this after any damage or saving throws are rolled as part of the triggering spell, but before damage is taken or its effects happen. If the caster is unwilling and the spell is level 5+, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability (DC 10 plus the spell’s level). On a failure, the triggering spell works as normal. Otherwise, the triggering spell fails and has no effect, and any costs to casting it, such as a spell slot or material components, are not expended. The caster then chooses a different spell of level 4 or lower with the same casting time to immediately cast instead.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You only make the ability check if the triggering spell is of a higher level than the spell slot you used, and the new spell cast can be of a level less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.
