The Waveless Tributary

The Waveless Tributary is a river city located in the middle of a forest in Terra Terrarium. This town is located on the ground right beside the river of the same name, but there is also a large group of buildings up in the trees. This location is the largest town full of the Kenku. The Kenku are flightless bird humanoids that are fairly reserved when it comes to interacting with other groups of people. The Kenku are very loyal to their own kind, but tend to stay away from humans. They are rumored to have lived in Terra Terrarium since the Era of Demise, but they were not found to live in the Waveless Tributary and the neighboring areas until around 26 EM.    Hurricane, the Kenku, came from this place, working under the demon lord Tiamat, who introduced herself to the Kenku shortly after their appearance. Tiamat struck a deal with the Kenku tribe, promising the power of flight, something they have longed for since their creation. She asked for all the strongest of the tribe to follow her and bow down to her. She is a master of persuasion, and a trickster, fooling the Kenku since she can not truly give the power of flight. But none under her leadership live long enough to question her. Hurricane left the Waveless Tributary, originally leaving for a deed for Tiamat, killing a mortal who she required killed. He got distracted, however, running into Popota and Aerias. He quickly forgot his quest and joined up with the group, sticking with them. He grew suspicious of Tiamat and his home's role in everything, but still is loyal to her.   The Waveless Tributary is said to be an incredibly beautiful place, with a deep river that flows softly, and glistens in the sun and moonlight. There is foliage all around, with trees stretching to the skies. On the forest floor, next to the river, a small village lives. Up in the trees, however, is the real city. Dozens of treehouses connected to each other via bridges exist in the tree tops.

Demographics

As stated prior, the Waveless Tributary is exclusively a Kenku civilization, outsiders are not typically welcome.

Government

The village of the Waveless Tributary is self governed, not taking part in the world government from Terra Ultima.

Defences

The village has gained more and more defense as the Kenku became more and more advanced. They are weary of outsiders, so they have guards posted on the trails as well as the river. They also have a wooden fence that spans the entirety of the village.

Industry & Trade

The inhabitants are absolutely self sufficient, since they do not really like to deal with outsiders (although some do and trade with humans and other species). They don't tend to export or import anything.

Infrastructure

The town is built on a river, so there are multiple watermills up and down the river. There are also many buildings in the trees, with bridges spanning the tree tops. There are few roads and trails leading to the town, as they try to stay hidden.  To avoid tainting the river, they also have built trenches that they use as a sewer system.

Assets

There are few stands and stores available to the Kenku, that are not used by outsiders. There are also many valuables, as they are hoarders of shiny things, as well as fierce warriors.

Guilds and Factions

There is Tiamat's Guild within the Kenku tribe, this is dedicated to the praise of the demon lord.

Architecture

The buildings are all made of wood, either up in the trees or on the forest floor. The bridges are also made of wood and different types of thatch. They use the environment as much as they can, mainly wood. They are all fairly primitive, but solid, houses.
