Greenwood Forest
The Greenwood Forest lies in the northwest of the Greenwood Dale, nestled against the Rampart Mountains. It stretches south for roughly thirty miles at the longest and roughly sixty miles east-to-west, covering about a third of the valley. As the only major source of timber in the Kingdom of Greenwood, its wood is in high demand, but logging is not without danger. Wolves, bears, and goblins all make their homes in the Greenwood Forest, and rarely, monsters are spotted moving among the trees.
Geography
The rolling hills of the Greenwood Dale continue into the Greenwood Forest, creating hundreds of tiny dells and hollows blanketed in fallen leaves. Trees grow closely together, often hiding the sky, and the forest is usually dim even during the day. The Leafall River flows through the forest from its sources in the Rampart Mountains.
Fauna & Flora
Oak, beech, and elm trees make up the flora of the Greenwood Forest, spreading thickly across the hills. Moss can often be found at their roots. Certain berries can also be found in patches across the forest, visible by a cluster of tall bushes. Deer, wild boars, squirrels, and many types of birds are common, while rabbits and mice are rarer. Wolves, bears, and snakes all hunt in the Greenwood Forest, and goblins lair throughout its shadows.
Natural Resources
The Greenwood Forest is the only major source of lumber remaining to the Kingdom of Greenwood, and the demand for wood is high.
