CC:S36: By the Balls Report

General Summary

Standing in Nothing and Nowhere, The Agitators found themselves surrounded by countless tiny sized triceratops. Mellow spoke to the beasts and convinced them to all run in one direction, but the party was still hit by half of the monsters. Bruised and unable to capture one, they pressed on with their quest to collect Verus' orb from Fanny McNobsnBits.

Reaching the end of the Satyr's grove, they found Fanny. He refused to give up the balls and started playing a tune. In doing so, he summoned multiple gargantuan-sized weasels to join him. Unfortunately, before he could strike back he was caught on fire, bitten, silenced, and broken. In fear, he flew away with all his speed. But, Szaq’red and Mellow opened a dimensional door and dropped on top of him. They gracefully fell down and trapped him in a web of vines.

With Fanny at their whims, they healed his bleeding wounds and demanded the orb. When he realized what they wanted, he sighed in relief. They didn't really want his 'balls'. The party left him alive and traveled back to meet Vrom who had been watching the whole time. Enamored by their adventures, Vrom asked if he could travel on the Stargazer for a time and join in as a crewmember. With all in agreement, the group headed back into Wildspace.

As everyone adjusted to being back in the sky, something invisible began tramping around the ship. It kept shocking crew members, but no one could figure out what it was. Vrom became convinced that the ship was haunted and connected it to his old friend Atru, a Loxodon who went into Wildspace in search of new inspiration for her art. Atru was lost in a nearby singularity. At the sound of this, The Agitators quickly decided to explore the black hole.

Docking at the event horizon, they stepped one by one down into the Sanctum of the Wailing Void. Inside they met with Koll, a dark Tortle priest of suffering. He was convinced to take The Agitators to meet his master, a Daemon who promised them great gifts (8th level necromancy or enchantment spell of their choice to cast once per long rest without components or spell slots), but they aptly refused. Instead, they began trying to communicate with the tormented Atru, who was lost in her art.

Dimitri navigated into her dreams and spoke to her. Seeing how hurt she was, Dimitri rushed everyone back to the ship. As soon as they were on board, he opened a dimensional gateway, snagged Atru, and teleported back to the ship. Unfortunately, the Daemon followed them out and the massive monster began chasing the Stargazer through space. Vox pulled quick maneuvering while everyone did their best to survive, barely escaping the monsters foul grasp.

While Vrom used a planar gate through Nothing and Nowhere to take Atru home, The Agitators furisouly sought out the pest on their ship. After Szaq’red broke its invisibility, they discovered a non-communicative will-o-wisp. The spirit seemed to respond to their words and convinced it that it could stay, as long as it didn't hurt anyone else.

Leaving the Wildspace system, they were greeted by a Mercane named Palac riding his Beholder boydguard Nagish. He offered the party various wares and sent them on their way.

Deep in The Hallowed Expanse they stumbled upon a massive floating obelisk. Upon obersvation Vox and Dart determined it was a communication relay for Knights of the Blighted Blade. With the help of Mellow's air bubbles, they pushed out and hacked the device. Vox recorded their strange speech and as they left, they blew the infernal device up.

Entering Wildspace around Thelidora, they were greeted by Star, a druid from Nothing and Nowhere who has made a home riding on the back of a Kindori. As a hermit, she has been quite bored and offered to cast a spell on the party if they could answer her riddle, which Dart quickly did. So she cast mass healing word, before heading back on her way.

Landing on Thelidora, they pulled into the city of Naka in search of clues to the Gurun homeworld. They were greeted by the leader of the local Hadozee, Groogr Rumson. Groogr invited in what he assumed to be his new master's. As an extreme pacifist, his people had taken no action against a recent Gith - Scur'iek who had been transforming his people into monsters out at the old Gurun ruins. The party agreed to help but as liberators (new branding in progress).

Traveling through the dense forest outside Naka, they discovered a group of Hadozee who had been brutally tortured and were failed attempts at the transformation magic. Dart offered them aid and they were sent back to the city.

Upon reaching Flameforge Vault, they saught out the still imprissoned Hadozee. Along the way Vox discovered a journal written in Gith. Upon finding the Gith flame priests and a prisoner still left alive, they acted quickly. This ended with the execution of two Gith - Scur'iek flame priests, one transformed weretiger Hadozee and one other transformed running out to live in the wilderness.

With the hostage secure, The Agitators pressed into the primary chamber. In which the leader of these Gith - Scur'iek was well prepared for their arrival. Refusing to receive the same fate as his peers, he ripped the necklace of fireballs from his chest and threatened to kill them all if they don't let him walk out of the vault with his prize.
