The Breath of Life

Life, Birth

From the second day to the first month of year 0 A.C.

Animals populate the seas and lands; Gaii’nus is imbued with the task of nurturing life and Exa’nus with limiting lifespans.

As he surveyed the realm he had shaped, Uro’nus perceived one glaring absence: life. The landscapes of DemTera were utterly barren, devoid of the vibrant creatures that would bring it to life. Driven by his desire to fill the world with vitality, he invoked his divine creativity and breathed life into an array of animals. He fashioned magnificent creatures to rule the vast oceans, agile beings to roam the expansive plains, and majestic birds to soar through the azure skies. The world was now alive with motion and sounds, yet Uro'nus felt a lingering unease.   His heart ached with the realization that the creatures he had lovingly created would not flourish if left unaided. Thus, he summoned forth the divine Gaii’nus, embodying beauty and nurturing spirit. Gaii’nus was appointed as the guardian of all living beings, bestowed with the power to regulate the cycles of life and determine the seasons when creatures could bring forth their young. With Gaii’nus’s watchful gaze, DemTera began to bloom with flourishing life.   Nevertheless, Uro’nus soon sensed a different dilemma. The creatures that thrived in this lush new world could become rampant and overrun the harmony he sought to cultivate. To maintain balance, he created Exa’nus, a figure of grace and fairness, who would oversee the lifespan of every being within DemTera. Exa’nus was charged with determining how long each creature would dwell upon the earth, as well as guiding their souls into the realms beyond once their physical forms had come to rest.
