Urmag Oppress
The first orc the humans ever encountered was Urmag Oppress. Little is known of this orc, and the few things that are written down, were written by humans who considered him to be nothing more than a wild and evil beast. Urmag was cast out from his orc tribe when he was just 16, while it is not known today why, it was most likely due to his violent tendencies.
What is well known in regards to Urmag is his strength and skill as a warrior. Urmag, after being banished went south, down through the desert and into the lands of humans. Along the way he encountered the other orcs who had been banished, taking them under his banner and creating his own tribe of fearsome and savage orcs. For reasons unknown, Urmag decided to continue his journey down through the desert, being the first orc to travel that far from his homeland. What he found on the other side were human villages, ill-defended due to the sheer unlikelyhood that an attack would come from a desert that would take weeks or more to traverse. Urmag and his forces were never really as powerful as they are remembered to be, that is at least believed by a majority of orc and human historians, but their opinion has not swayed the public, even with more than 5000 years having passed.
Urmag and his rein of terror lasted over 60 years, where he and his orcs killed hundreds if not thousands of humans before finally being faced with a proper human army. It is speculated that despite clearly having the men and weapons to beat the orcs, the orcs managed to form birthing chambers in secret parts of the land, breeding new orcs simply for war. Urmag was, at least in the legends, killed by a noble human prince who took his head and mounted it on the castle wall... more likely is that Urmag simply grew older and one day simply failed to dodge the human army, being completely overwhelmed and executed, but that isn't as noble as the stories.
