The Goblin Saint Non-canon

The small procession we were with included Lucas and a coatery of his guards and Michel as the Royal honor guard. I had Cori, Hob, and Knoll with as my escorts through the city. It had been largely uneventful, Lucas had wanted to show me some of the more interesting sections of the artists quarter. He had us go see the various mosaics painted on the walls and speak with the artists. Knoll and Cori had enjoyed that far more than me, though I could appreciate it.   My attention was dragged out of my thoughts as Cori tapped on my shoulder. I didn't hear what Lucas was talking about, as I swiveled my eyes over to her. She nodded her head at a trio of musicians in one of the alcoves set into the wall coming up. The thrum of a deep bass drum was what I noticed first.   "Lucas, lets stop and enjoy the music for a moment" I said, cutting off his explanation of color theory, and why red and black should never go together.   The Baron called a halt and Cori wandered over to listen to the drums and guitar. I followed her and watched her bob her head to the beat of the song. The front man with the guitar was singing in a harsh screech, each line ending with a drawn out note. The man had a brown leather jacket on and a bight red shirt and boots. The drummer was in all black, the one in the back of the alcove was playing a different guitar, bigger only four strings.   "The beast struck and writhed, The crowd crawled away on bloodied hands and knees, The fear of all, the shock of all The beast ripped and roared!"   "The silver angel, blades in hands rode on its back, fear not in the heart, fear not in the soul, fearing nothing of the beast The beast ripped and roared!"   "Flash of silver, silencing the beast the angel, struck down and down and down and down, the blood of the beast gracing her face! the fear of the heart gone without a trace"   "Her green hair stained with life of her foe Her fury burned the beast to its soul the crowd crawled further away! crawled like a worm, crawled like a worm, crawled like a worm!"   "breathless the beast lay still! breathless she rose, she faced the people she did not know! the fear of the crowd broke, the beast ripped and torn."   "the fury of the city and wanted the angels head the fury of the city wanted to kill the crowd rose to the angel and ran"   The song had turned suddenly and disconcertingly somber as they sang about the crowd rushing to the angels aid and let her escape. The musicians hadn't even looked up from their head banging, until Cori spoke and grabbed their attention.   "Was that song about me?" the front man suddenly looked up and saw the royal guard, the Baron, me, and his eyes finally landed on Cori. his mouth fell open in a comical "O".   The group rose to their feet and ran to her, and each shook her hand. They were talking excitedly as they explained that they had been children when Cori and killed the basilisk in the city. Apparently they were in the market square that day and she had stopped the beast from killing them by blinding it as it turned it's head to bite at them.   "I've never heard music like that! It was awesome!" she told them, their smiles were infectious.   The front man answered "Its a newer genera that some of us have been making ever since the Forgemaster made a guitar sound distorted as you play. We're calling it metal."   "Angel, huh?" she smiled at the front man.   "Well yeah! Who else could have done that other than an angel! You were gorgeous as you trapezed over that leviathan!" Cori blushed slightly as he talked.   Lucas walked over to me and spoke "Not my type of music, but she does seem to like the attention." He nudged me and winked.   "It doesn't surprise me she likes it, it fits her. I had forgotten that story, I didn't think it would be so well remembered in the city, so much so that someone would make a song about it." I looked up at him.   "Then I'll have the court bard play her a few of the songs about her, various renditions of 'the goblin saint'". He laughed out.   "The goblin saint?" I looked back at Cori still animated in discussion with the musicians as they talked about the style of music.   "She's a local legend in the city thanks to that event, its what the common folk have named her. I didn't realize it was her though, you're right that music does fit her." He looked over at Cori and smiled.
