Non-canon, I am unsure

“You mentioned a while back, that odd statement you made about shadows when Hob, Ghet and I were at Khameres workshop. You know.”   “I have already told you, there are things the Great Mother doesn’t want spoken about.”   “The Great Mother is dead. The only one left is The Queen of the Fae.”   “My my my, so you have seen some truth then. Where did you find this information?”   “A sealed chamber with an ancient shrine. Encapsulated in a metal shell, covered in those runes you taught me about. Runes of silence, secrets, power, and danger. But, also hope.”   “Well that would explain why the shadows never found it, what was this thing you found in the chamber, runes don’t convey that much information.”   “A dusty, old book. Written by Xeli the First High Priest of the Great Mother Vilorlith.”   He paled, suddenly very worried. “You didn’t remove it from the chamber did you? You cannot take it out of there, that book is too important…”   She cut him. “When were you going to tell me, I am ‘Shadow Touched’? When were you going to tell us all that my people are not what they seem? When were you going to tell us about the breaking of our world was caused by the very god I worshiped? When were you going to tell us we are not what we seem to be?” He sighed, heavily. Silent for a very long moment. “When I told you I can’t speak about certain things. I meant it, the Queen won’t allow it. She binds certain information to keep the surviving original family safe. She wants no Shadow to ever find them again.” He paused, his eyes wide. “You know, I know we can speak safely, she wont allow the information to be share with anyone who already doesn’t know, or have been told by her directly. We are alone then, with absolute certainty.”   “The doors are locked, I didn’t know how you were going to react, so I had the area vacated.”   “Wise, I know I have been friendly, but I do keep a lot of information from you. I just want to make something clear. Did that book tell you about the Citadel and the Cathedral, about how Vilorlith and her people were the first to fall?”   “The citadel and the Cathedral, yes, I didn’t know the sequence of events though.”   “The Brownies and Vilorlith were attack first because of the gifts she bestowed on her children. Vilorlith, as you might know, was the one creating material to use in our plane of existence. Her divine wind blew through all creations and allowed the other gods to continue to create shape and make. She gave to her children, the gift of her voice. The same voice that called to the others in the Quartet, her voice could not be ignored. As you may notice when your people speak.”   “She also gave them the gifts that you in particular possess. The mastery over wind, sound, and atmosphere. But it goes deeper. She taught them to a lesser degree how to make like she did. Your people were quite literally mini versions of her, and were reality shapers. Your people changed aspects of reality at will, they did see this as offensive to the gods however, and thus sought much of their permission to do so. However, this made your people very dangerous to the shadows.   “You were so powerful, so integral to the functioning of the universe. Your people literally could not be replaced. So, that being said, everytime your people were involved in the war, they were never killed. They were changed, to join the ranks of the Shadows. When the Shadows overran the citadel, the same thing happened. It was a horror, there were only a few of you left by the time they got to the Cathedral.”   “Vilorlith needed to unleash her power to fight fully, she order all survivors out of the city. They refused to leave her behind. She forced the rest of the children out of the citadel, and to the encampment of the Queen. She leveled the city, the fissures she made in the earth still remain here. Infact, these caves are one of them. Ilgor, your people never left the citadel, here, south of Glaion is the heart of the old city. Where Glaion sits now, was where the Cathedral was.”   “She didn’t survive, and the last few Brownies that were left, changed. Xeli, he spent a week without sleep, without water or food, as he fought the changing by sheer willpower. While he fought, he wrote. I assuming that book you found was his final words, he disappeared after that week, and was never found.”
