Douka

Located on the coast of the Maris Alliance, Douka is one of the largest cities on Bramor. It's known to be the central port city for most of the kingdoms, and a great deal of trade comes through this city. Also the seat of the Trader's Union, most of the power in Maris lies in this one city, though there is no hold lost in any of the outlying towns.
Being poor is illegal within Douka, and those who cannot pay their bills find themselves locked away, laboring for the Union for a pittance. Though the Trader's Union decries slavery, they see no issue with the way that things are in the city, given that the indigent are provided for, given a meager stipend, housing, and at least some medical care.
The city is always clean and orderly, despite its size and tremendous population.

Government

The governor of Douka is appointed by the Trader's Union, and is usually someone with a tie to the Union. The Governorship, while always given to someone loyal to the Union, is never given as simply a token title, the governor must be capable of leading and managing the city, as it is the main port of the Kingdom.
