Moletown

Perhaps the most guarded and secretive settlement in the Dust Bowl, only the Dunwich Society and their slaves are allowed to tread here. A disappointing secret to most, a handful of concrete barracks and garages dot the surface without any indication that this is more than a small town isolated away from all natural resources. What is even more confusing to outsiders is why anyone would waste the effort to keep it dug out, as it sits in an area known for its shifting topography.

Constructed on top of a pre-war mine shaft that was abandoned in the nineteenth century after it became unstable, the Dunwich Society has been able to pick up where they left off with contemporary building materials and techniques. Large machines were brought in as well as ten thousand souls they purchased from the Corvega City Slavers. They have been toiling for the better part of a decade, yet it is still unclear what it is they are after.

Soil being excavated is the only thing that seems to leave Moletown. This dirt is driven out by convoy each day to both the Reservoir and the Rad Farm for agricultural needs. By the regular volume and schedule, it is hard to calculate just how deep they must have gone despite big brains working on just this equation. Those claiming to have escaped often have stories that fall apart under scrutiny, confusing the true nature of this operation even further with tales of fantasy.

Striding across the sands in prototype power armor, pre-war jets, and vertibirds, these figures always cut an intimidating presence in the Dust Bowl. Their motives remain a secret while their methods are impossible to miss. What is known is that they have been trafficking slaves into the area by the thousands, although none seem to ever leave.

Main Sources of Sustenance

Packaged food and beverages: Canned, pickled, or bottled, much of what is available at the Rad Farm is also available here. Due to the strict nature of security and the resources needed to bring in nourishment for so many, it is not effective to bring anything in fresh.

The Dunwich Broadcasts- A series of disturbing broadcasts that cycle through repetitious dialog. Many assume that this is the way they communicate between bunkers and strongholds as it does seem to be in some form of code. This does not satisfy everyone however, as this organization has access to multiple means of communication and has no trouble deligating private orders remotely from Moletown to the rest of their territories.

WARNING: Can actually be a little unsettling, give a listen at your own risk.
