King of all currencies in the Great Dust Bowl, caps are accepted nearly anywhere there is trade. They may not hold equal value across the wasteland, but someone is usually willing to exchange them for what is preferred locally. Only bottlecaps minted before the Great War from either Nuka Cola or Sunset Sarsaparilla are considered legitimate. This helps prevent counterfeits and new prints from flooding the market and upending economies.
