The Myth of Demha, The Dreamer
This myth takes place in the Upper Plane of Ysgard. The story says that one day, Khem, The Ethereal, wandered into Ysgard, and found herself trapped inside one of Raldo's Labyrinths. Curious by this unfamiliar, divine presence, he ventured into his own puzzle and searched for her.
He roamed the halls, following her trace, like a delusional hunter following a sylvan apparition, always finding footprints, whispers and tracks, but never seeing his target.
Slowly, Raldo started to believe himself crazy, thinking that some powerful illusion was working on him. He stopped, and found shelter in one of the Labyrinth's many dungeons. He looked around, and observed every detail of his own creation. Every pebble, every scratch on the floor, every speck of dust, all carefully designed by him. He had never been inside one of his dungeons, or so the story tells.
And so, he sank into thought, finding new appreciation for his work.
It was then that the apparition manifested in front of him.
He was immediately struck by her ethereal nature, a spark of memory slowly catching fire in his soul. He remembered his time as a mortal, and how he clawed his way out of the Underdark to see beauty. To see color. As if reading his mind, the goddess spoke. She told him of the mysteries she had encountered in his Labyrinth, and wondered why he didn't dispel it to find her.
He told her that he could not bring himself to it, and that he would rather endure an eternity trapped in it than to ever destroy or, even worse, cheat his own creation.
The goddess took his words to heart, and a deep understanding came between them. The story then says they wandered the Labyrinth together, trying to find an exit.
By the time they emerged, a third presence accompanied them. From their deep spiritual bond a god had been born: Demha, "The Dreamer", god of beauty, daydream, and dreams.
