The Vinichoks

A comparably small chain of islands, this Stead has been the seat of the Vinichki Empire for the last 212 years of its reign. Before, it was one of the preeminent human civilizations, rising quickly in power and wealth due to its talent for magic and technology.

Geography

The Vinichoks are divided into 10 significant islands.

Glavni

The de facto "main" island of the Vinichoks, and its most central. This island has both the main graviturgical research institute, Naserdtse, positioned close to the Heart-Stone of the Vinichoks, as well as the Imperial capital, the gleaming white city of Belnigrod.

The Twins

Kasper and Gerod are two small islands stacked on top of one another. It's probable that at one time, the mountains of Gerod were connected to the downtains of Kasper.

Ozyor

The most populous island, and the only one with anything that can properly be called a "sea."

Rozkol

It's theorized that the gorge in the center of this island once went all the way through to the Shadowfall on the other side, but these days it merely catches rainwater and runoff from the flanking mountains, making for the Vinichoks' second largest body of water.

Tri Zhenshchini

The Three Ladies, Matya, Devcha, and Vedmi, or the Mother, the Maiden, and the Crone, are among the least populated and least hospitable islands of the Vinichoks, though they are still populated. The city of Bognishche, for example, guards the Vinichoks' single deepest and most productive salt peter mine, while Vedmi, the only volcanic island in the Vinichoks, contains the prison-fortress of Dragovina, where most manufacture of airship, gun, and artillery parts, as well as ammunition for all three, is carried out.

Zyud

This island is largely unremarkable, except that it is the closest main island, and the skyport destination, for the prestigious Shkola Pristina, the foremost arcane university in the Vinichoks -- perhaps on the Eye entirely.

Toshchi

The only uninhabited island in the Vinichoks, and for good reason. The Gash of Shadow carries through to the Darkness Beneath on the underside, and the island is overrun by undead horrors. Thankfully, the Vinichoks being so spread out, this does not often effect the remainder of the islands.
