Mehket

Montreal has been populated by Mehket since Great Britain took ownership of Montreal. Hidden among the Lords, Ladies and Serpents that boarded ships to come to the new world, the Shades haven since grown in numbers. Given the time and available nourishment, these Mehket were able to thicken and transform the blood into variations, commonly known as bloodlines, which will be listed below. Being less numerous than the Ventrue and the Daeva, the Mehket have expanded there knowledge of dark secrets to be the clan with the most established bloodlines in the city.
This bloodline list is not complete as the blood does warp and change in unexpected ways, but is a listing and description of what is common to be found in the Mehket of the City of Festivals.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Connected
The Connected are a bloodline that favours technology and the information that can be gathered through it. They are a recent divergence in the blood for the Shades and naturally have formed from the emergence of the SFX and gaming companies that have called Montreal home in the last few decades.
Marcos Cabral was sired by an Oracle who happened to be the company president of a local SFX firm. Only knowing cultural pride when he was part of the kine, he transferred this desire to belong to his Sire's bloodline and embraced it with all the might his undead heart could muster. These nights, Marcos is a source of excellent blackmail and kine digital information which makes him a supreme asset to many of the Kindred of the City of Festivals. His Sire Guo 'Simon' Zhu, keeps a close eye on Marcos, as he wishes to protect his Childer from opportunists but also ensure that his rise isn't too meteoric.

The Csalad are the land and the land is the Csalad. At least, within there own territories. These Mehket have found a way to develop a special connection with the land they inhabit so as to literally have eyes and ears everywhere. Originally from Hungary, the Stone Sires have met with some of there long last cousins among the First Nations Kindred who walk beneath the stars and moonlight.
Shane Blanchette is a Native American Shade of the Circle of the Crone. He chooses who can enter or leave the Crones territories of Kahnawake, Chateaugay, Ste-Catherine-St-Constant and La Prairie. László Valentin on the other hand was a Hungarian immigrant taken in by the Carthians as he struggled to adapt to Montreal's chaotic Dusk to Dawn Affair of the 1950s and 1960s. His mastery of Lithopedia has made him a valuable Carthians asset and given to them dominion over all constructions projects in the city.

The Mnemosyne are the backbone of a branch of the Circle of the Crone. The ability to draw on memories and experiences and store them within vitae, makes them a key member of the Liber of the Main. Some of there other mind altering abilities have drawn a hateful eye from the Ventrue.
Lily O'Shea was one of the first Mehket to step foot onto the City of Festival's cobble stone streets. She remembers much of the old days and although she has spent time in torpor, she has always been kept up to date thanks to her bloodline's devotions. As a keeper, no one knows more, or has forgotten more than Lily.

The Norvegi know that the darkest secrets are the ones kept by the beast. They have dedicated themselves in knowing the beast so well that now the beast reveals itself to them. This is what truly frightens the other Kindred of Montreal. Thus, they shun what they are frightened of, but because they need the knives, they can't be rid of them.
Viggo Henriksen is a square peg trying to fit in a round hole. As a knife, he has found a useful purpose with the Carthians, and made himself busy by being a contract killer to other Kindred of Montreal. But beyond such a violent existence he tries to find meaning to his unlife beyond that of the revolution.

Due to the large population of Mehket in the City of Festivals, some kindred have been able to tap into the blood in such a way as to awake the beast as a second psychological entity.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

The Mehket are found in the Invictus, the Carthians, the Lancea et Sanctum and the Circle of the Crone. The Connected were developed within the Invictus as whoever controls information, holds true power. Some Csalad call the Carthians home, mainly those with investments in local private and public construction contracts. Csalad are also very popular within the Circle of the Crone as Kindred of the First Nations and others who have a personal connection with the land. The Circle of the Crone has a particular interest in recording of experiences within the city and so has welcomed the Mnemosyne with open arms. Finally, as a mirror of there Ventrue cousins, Mehket Norvegi march with the Carthians.

History

The Mehket snuck into Montreal by following in the shadows of the Ventrue and the Daeva. Although there fellow Kindred grew in numbers quickly, the Shades were more selective in there embraces and thus ended up with smaller numbers. They were however more industrious in the centuries that followed to develop bloodlines that would make them indispensable to the Dusk to Dawn Affair. The Mnemosyne came to the new world after the first wave of Mehket wrote back, explaining to them what benefits and riches could await them upon their arrival. The Csalad have been a protected bloodline of the First Nations Kindred who are exclusive to the Circle of the Crone, who felt some shock when a Hungarian cousin of there's immigrated in the 1950s to Montreal and joined the Carthians. The Norvegi arrived in the City of Festivals on ships from Sweden, Finland and Denmark sometime around the 1850s. The Connected are the most recent bloodline, being developed by Mehket with ties to the emerging SFX and gaming companies in the city. Other bloodlines have passed through and some call Montreal home, but none have achieved the heights of these bloodlines, yet.
