Daeva

Written by MateusDS

Montreal has been ruled by a large Daeva population following the arrival of the first men and women from the Old World to Nouvelle France. Given the time and available nourishment, these Daeva were able to thicken and transform the blood into variations, commonly known as bloodlines, which will be listed below.
This bloodline list is not complete as the blood does warp and change in unexpected ways, but is a listing and description of what is common to be found in the Daeva of the City of Festivals.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Gulikan
The Gulikan were first encountered during the Dusk to Dawn Affair when immigrants from Eastern Europe and the Middle East got off at the Port of Montreal and made this city there home. They may have been sent or exiled from lands far away but in the City of Festivals they found a city of Kindred with taste and much money to be spent. It did not take long for the Perfumers to settle in and make riches off the vanity of Montreal's Kindred. Although exclusively Turkish in many Kindred cities, the Gulikan have embraced childer of many other races and ethnicity in these modern nights.
Pauline Meunier was captivated by the sent of her sire and brought into the Dusk to Dawn Affaire accidentally. She rose and confronted the man for his offense which earned her the admiration of the Invictus. A dedicated Harpy of the Prince, Pauline may soon set her eyes on higher aspirations.

A slight deviation of the well known assassins of the Moda Mortale bloodline, these once widows have turned there fashionable eyes towards other artistic styles. They seek poets, painters, sculptors, models, actors, singers, song writers, musicians, and many others, to be muse, inspiration and devoted aide as they rise to recognition and in some cases stardom. To the 1%, the blood is absolutely exquisite after a performance or the creation of a work of art.
One such Serpent is Aridatha Duracce. Aridatha was a cellist of the Montreal Symphony when she was embraced. She has since risen to be the Daeva Advisor and a well respected member of the Circle of the Crone.

Due to the large population of Daeva in the City of Festivals, some kindred have been able to tap into the blood in such a way as to awake the beast as a second psychological entity.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

The Daeva are found in the Invictus, the Carthians, the Lancea et Sanctum and the Circle of the Crone. The Gulikans have been welcomed principally into the Invictus, where as the Sapore Mortale are most at home in the Circle of the Crone.

History

The Daeva are part of the original immigrants of France to Nouvelle France. The Sapore Mortale arrived in the early 1920s and 1930s with the first Italian immigrants and diverged shortly after as the city molded itself from a blue collar town to a center of taste and high culture. The town was then ripe for the Gulikan to establish themselves in the 1960s and 1970s. Other bloodlines have passed through and some call Montreal home, but none have achieved the heights of these two bloodlines, yet.
