The Sinkhole

The Sinkhole is a newly developed landmark in Pluarsh ec Relovut. It first appeared while the Spiritual Travelers were battling a group of Death Blossoms on Nurend 16, 308.   This sinkhole has a radius of about 30 feet with a series of cliffs leading deep into the ground. The walls of the sinkhole are covered in undead which are stuck in the rock and mud clawing at the air desparate to escape. Scaling the walls is a challenge as the undead will, possibly unwittingly, attack, though a small portion has been cleared out to make it a bit to go in and out of the depths. Each cliff edge is about 10 feet deep leading down to the lowest point of 50 feet below ground before reaching the center.   At the center of this sinkhole is another pit, though this one is perfectly round and only 5 ft in diameter. It seems to be filled with the same strange darkness that was found in The Maze and The Well of Darkness as well as when the Spiritual Travelers witnessed the disappearance of Tympi.   The undead which had been freed during the battle with the Death Blossoms seemed eager to jump down the pit at the center of this sinkhole for some reason. One zombie remained behind, however, to beg the Spiritual Travelers to travel to The Rotting Gate and free her and the rest of her people from the influence of a necromancer referred to as Božena.

Defenses

Unlike The Well of Darkness, when presented with Moonlight, this pit of darkness was capable of turning it an unpleasant blood red color. The presence of moonlight also caused the ground to split into a broken circle with mushrooms and foul smelling roots rising from the ground. As the blood moon light persisted gallons of actual blood began to flow backwards from the pit and over the ground as well. This also seemed to cause a voice to challenge whoever had brought this "vile light" to their realm.   “Who dares bring this vile light into my realm? You who disrupt my joyous freedom from the reel, if you would worship the Circle why do you trespass here? Begone, lest ye would prefer the endless existence of a shattered cycle, lest ye would join me in triumph in the ever-coming hour of victory against that wretched ring, lest ye would find solace in learning what your past lives knew, remembering what memories were washed away by the River Misery.   “Join me here then in my hour of revelation.”
