Sorayama Universal Automatons Conglomerate
Sorayama Universal Automatons Conglomerate started as two rival companies that created and sold two very similar products. Rossum’s Universal Robots created the first maintenance and servant robots available for mass purchase across the galaxy. Meanwhile, Sorayama Cybot focused on making machines more like the humans that they served. They created the first pleasure-droids, diplomat droids, and security robots.
After nearly a century of intense rivalry, Roussum’s Universal Robots merged with Sorayama Cybot, creating a near-monopoly in the robot industry. Popular legend has it that the CEOs of the two companies flipped a coin to determine whose name would stay in the company name.
SUAC (“swak” as its vulgarly called) is a member in good standing of the Imperial Merchants Guild, and CEO Doja Brandt holds the title of Merchant Baroness. While she always comes for the traditional opening ceremony of the Celestial Court on Hesperides, she leaves quickly afterwards for corporate headquarters. She appears to be politically disinterested; her only interest is in building the business of building robots.
