Small Business Consortium

The Small Business Consortium is not one company, but a union of over a thousand companies that have joined together in order to increase their influence in galactic affairs. By themselves, none of these companies would likely rate an invitation to the Imperial Merchants Guild, nor be able to pay the outrageous membership fees. Together, the Consortium is a member in good standing, and the Consortium’s president is ranked as a Merchant Lord but is not entitled to any noble courtesies in the Celestial Court.
The Consortium prides itself on being a voice for the small business and the common businessman, as well as rigorously screening applicants to their union. The Consortium claims that none of its member businesses deal in illegal substances/activities or otherwise violate Imperial law, a claim that is hard to believe, but harder to refute. Its current president holds herself out as the last honest businessperson; rumors, however, paint her as open to bribery or corruption, if it’s the right corruption.
