Melios Vandras

Melios Vandras is a rebel Aeliod leader bent on destroying the 9 planet galactic control. Forward thinking and obsessed with logistics and probabilities, he does not appear to be the type of man to lead a cause. Short and thin, with a shy way of carrying himself it was his dedication to success for his people which sucked others into his band. Officially calling themselves Pirates of Melios, the Aeliod hunters are after neither wealth nor fame, but an on world colony for their people to settle and once again gain respect. He has a wife, Lunacem, who is much more personally amenable.

Motivation

Melios's son was a 9er, working as a mercenary pirate to disrupt shipping lanes in a dispute between the Iadidai and Ampa. While Melios dissaproved his son's work, he let him"take his own path". The dispute was largely uneventful, a stalemate between shipping control that was neither very interesting or impactful outside the costs. It therefore came as a major shock when Melios learned that his son had been killed in action, along with the rest of his crew. Melios felt that the official facts didn't make sense, the Ampa had no reason to physically assault Leandros position. Melios broke with his logistical management job for the Colimp colony and broke his own commandments of self to find answers. He lie, stole, bribed, and killed to make his way to a upper level Ampa officer who, while intoxicated, implied that the Ampa had blown up their own mercenaries to create an PR disaster and end the stalemate in their favor. To add salt, the explosion was unsuccessful at ending the shipping problems and only really served to kill. Infuriated, Melios conned his way onto The Sandshifter, a Ampa dropship heading to Fieda. In a fit of suicidal rage he entered the main cabin proceeded to slay all 16 of the crew, hunting the final few with monsterous intent and thundering words. When the event was over and his rage cooled Melios was bewilder. He had not planned a contingency for living and considerd running the ship into a city to cause damage. However he recognized that his success was based on one thing, the pre-emptive assumption from the 9 worlds that they were so superior to Aeliods that they could not be defeated. On that day Melios began to form his pirate crew. He has not picked up a weapon since that day, but has nonetheless been able to grow his crews while mantaining his reputation for ferocity.
