Warsmith

'Warsmith' is a broad and old term used by many militaries to denote -- to varying degrees -- someone employed in assisting a military leader with strategy, overseeing military-related construction, and/or commissioning new technologies. They are especially prominent when there are siege elements to a conflict or significant, long deployments. They were also expected to come from a strong military background.
